Company31, Australia & New Zealand

Good technology help, for the businesses that usually miss out.

Company31 is a senior advisory practice for small and mid-sized businesses across Australia and New Zealand, metro and regional. We help you get more from the tools you already pay for: Dynamics 365, HubSpot, Zoho, Shopify, and the sensible bits of AI. Led by Manuel Re, with twenty years at the enterprise end of the market put to work for the side of town that normally cannot afford it.

Who this is for

Owner-operators, family businesses, and regional operators.

If you run a business with five to two hundred people (a shop, a workshop, a practice, a farm gate, a fleet, a service) and you suspect your systems are costing you more time than they save, this practice is for you. The aim is simple: fewer screens, fewer workarounds, fewer surprise bills, better days.

01

Platforms, done properly

Dynamics 365 Business Central, HubSpot, Zoho, Shopify. Set up so the stock matches the till, the CRM matches the inbox, and the report matches the reality on the ground. No seven-figure rebuilds. No jargon that hides the work.

02

Numbers you can trust

One honest dashboard beats ten half-built ones. We tidy the data behind the till, the workshop, the paddock, or the practice, and build the small set of reports that actually change what you do on a Monday morning.

03

AI that earns its keep

Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, with sensible automations underneath. We show your team the three or four things AI actually does well for a small business, skip the rest, and leave you with workflows that save hours a week, not pitches that save none.

How we work

Seven principles.

Not slogans. How decisions get made when the quote is tight, the season is short, and the phone is ringing.

01

Outcomes over activity.

A plan is not a deliverable.

02

Plain language, always.

If it cannot be explained simply, it is not yet understood.

03

Steady over heroic.

Sustainable pace beats sprinting to burnout. You have a business to run.

04

What is in our control.

Scope, sequence, and standards. The rest, we respond to.

05

Evidence over opinion.

Decisions earn their place through data, not volume.

06

Small and solid.

One working thing this month beats three half-built things next year.

07

Fair on price.

No big-firm margins on small-business work. The quote is the quote.

Free tool. No sign-up.

Run a Cyber Check on your business in under a minute.

Most small businesses have no idea what the open internet already knows about them. Spoofable email. Forgotten subdomains. TLS issued by a provider they stopped using years ago. Our free Cyber Check runs a passive external assessment against any domain you own and returns a plain-English grade with the exact fixes, in the browser. Nothing installed. Nothing sent anywhere. Findings map to the ACSC Essential Eight (AU) and the NZ Privacy Act 2020 breach-notification expectations, so the report doubles as evidence for your insurer or auditor.

Cyber compliance, for real businesses

We take AU and NZ cyber law seriously, because the regulators do.

The old "we are too small to be a target" defence no longer works, and the old "small-business exemption" is on its way out. Since late 2024, Australia's amended Privacy Act carries civil penalties up to the greater of $50 million, three times the benefit obtained, or 30 percent of adjusted turnover. The Cyber Security Act 2024 added mandatory ransomware payment reporting. Across the Tasman, the NZ Privacy Act 2020 already requires breach notification within a practicable window, and failure to notify is a criminal offence. We keep current with all of it.

AU

Privacy Act 1988 & NDB scheme

Notifiable Data Breaches, "reasonable steps" to secure personal information, and the 2024 amendments that lifted penalties and narrowed the small-business carve-out. We help you build the evidence that you took the steps, before you need it.

AU

ACSC Essential Eight

The practical baseline regulators and cyber insurers measure you against. Patching, MFA, macros, admin privileges, application control, hardening, backups. We get small businesses to Maturity Level 1 without pretending it has to be a six-figure programme.

NZ

NZ Privacy Act 2020

Mandatory breach notification to the Privacy Commissioner and affected individuals as soon as practicable. IPP 3A transparency obligations from 1 May 2026. CERT NZ Critical Controls as a plain-English working checklist. We work in both jurisdictions.

Credentials, in passing

Yes, we have done the big end of town too.

Twenty years leading programmes on SAP S/4HANA, Salesforce, NetSuite, and custom platforms, for banks, carmakers, retailers, and not-for-profits. We mention it so you know the advice you are getting is the same advice those programmes received. Then we get back to the work in front of us, which is usually a lot smaller and a lot more useful.

Bring the problem, not the brief.

Describe the situation in your own words. A sentence, a voice note, a paragraph. We will tell you honestly whether this practice is the right fit and, if not, point you to someone who is. No sales call. No follow-up sequence.
